Creative Communities Scheme supports and encourages local arts activities. It is a partnership between Porirua City Council and Creative New Zealand. Each year Creative New Zealand provides funding to city and district councils to distribute in their area. Any individual, group or organisation can apply.
Closing Dates
There are two rounds per year.
The Closing Dates for 2024 are:
Wednesday 10 April 2024
For projects between 1 June 2024 – 1 June 2025
Wednesday 9 October 2024
For projects between 1 December 2024 – 1 December 2025
Your project must take place in Porirua and have an arts focus.

The Creative Communities Festival Fund is a one off funding boost from the Government, to support and established festivals that celebrate the life experiences, stories, culture and regional identities of New Zealanders, that continue to be impacted by the effects of COVID-19 2023. CCS Festival Funds can support eligible festivals that are delivered in your CCS Funding rounds between August 2023-and May 2024. Final opportunity to apply for the Creative Communities Festival Fund closes 10 April 2024 and the key criteria is that you must have presented at least one festival within the past five years.
