Iain MacLean - Independent
My principal place of residence is in the Northern/Pukerua ki te Raki Ward area.
Iain MacLean is dedicated to working for sustainable development, strong communities, and a healthy environment.
He is standing for Council as a strong, local, independent voice in the area most affected by large residential developments. These new developments will have an impact on the environment and surrounding communities.
Growth will create opportunities for Porirua, but we must manage it well and keep a tight grip on Council finances.
Iain has lived in Pukerua Bay since 1988 with his wife, Kate, and they raised their three children there. He's been active in the community for many years, including Scout treasurer and soccer coach, referee and club administrator. Iain has been a Pukerua Bay Residents Association committee member for 11 years, and chair for nine years. He has a record of leadership, influence and community advocacy. He is respected for working well with others to find lasting solutions to problems.
