The public are encouraged to attend Anzac Day in Porirua, with a number of services listed below. The different ceremonies around the city are a chance to reflect and come together as a community to acknowledge those who have served or are serving.
Please note the main civic service will be livestreamed on the Council Facebook page for those unable to make it, or who might prefer to watch from home.
Porirua RSA, 5-7 McKillop St
A dawn service will be held at the RSA from 6am.
Parade will assemble at 5.45am in the RSA car park for the dawn service from 6am.
Titahi Bay RSA, 74 Main Rd
The dawn service begins at 6.30am.
There will be a citizens’ parade at Whitehouse Rd from 10.30am.
Porirua Civic Service
The civic service will take place at the peace memorial at Te Rauparaha Park, starting at 9am. All are welcome.
8.30am – seating available at Te Rauparaha Park
8.45am – parade gathers for march at Hagley St
9am – service begins
Light refreshments will be available inside the Arena following the service.
Pāuatahanui
A service will be held at St Alban’s Church from 10.15am, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial
Takapūwahia Marae
A service will be held at the marae from 10.30am.
Pukerua Bay
A flag-raising will take place at Pukerua Bay RSA, 7 Rawhiti Rd, from 8am.
A service will be held at the community hall from 11am, followed by a wreath-laying at Whenua Tapu Cemetery from 12pm.
