Te Puna Kōrero is the main committee that makes decisions about the city’s strategic direction and framework. It is made up of the Mayor, all councillors and the Council Kaumātua.
After confirming the minutes from the previous meeting, the committee approved the addition of broken yellow lines along the western (non-residential) side of Albatross Close in Whitby, from the intersection of James Cook Drive to the intersection of Seagull Place.
The decision is to maintain safe parking during times when the area around the street experiences high traffic volumes.
The committee then heard about the proposal for Council to file an appeal with the Environment Court on Proposed Change 1 and Variation 1 to the Regional Policy Statement made by Greater Wellington Regional Council. After some questions and discussions, the committee agreed to file the appeal.
In the public forum today a resident spoke with a rates-related query.
