A full Porirua City Council meeting was held this morning, Thursday 18 April. Here is a wrap of what was covered:
There was one speaker in the public forum, addressing councillors and Mayor Anita Baker on a number of matters.
Mayor Baker then gave her regular Mayor’s Report on her activities in the past month. She outlined (and thanked) a busy time for Council staff, including Long-term Plan engagement activities, such as the successful night market in Cannons Creek (to be held monthly), getting the manu platform opened at Arena Aquatics, the Environmental Cadetship Programme, and Wheelathon in Whitby.
Other events Mayor Baker attended included 50 years of Whitby Keas and Scouts, a Cambodian community celebration, a performance of High School Musical at Bishop Viard College, the Porirua Grand Traverse, Judgeford Golf Course’s 75th Jubilee, the Welly Awards, and a performance of Black Grace.
The only item for discussion on the agenda was an update to governance documents: reimbursement of elected members expenses policy, standing orders, code of conduct, and terms of reference and delegations.
There were no committee recommendations.
