We have implemented some further safety improvements at Spicer Landfill to decrease risk to the public while heavy equipment is moving through the pit area.
Heavy equipment operating in the pit can pose a risk to both the public and our staff, potentially from items getting pushed from the pit onto the unloading platform, or people jumping into the pit and getting struck by the loader.
To keep everyone safer, the pit will now be kept clear while the loader is moving through. Any cars needing to access the transfer station will be held at the kiosk, and any people at the site will be asked to move back momentarily while the loader is going past.
Trucks that don’t use the transfer station can still go through and access the landfill tipping area.
